If you want to fish somewhere other than the camp without a boat, Slidell has a beautiful fishing pier that extends over Lake Pontchartrain. There are plaques along the pier detailing the fish native to the area.

Created from the original I-10 Twinspans which were damaged in Hurricane Katrina, the St. Tammany Fishing Pier's artificial reefs along the pier make it a popular spot for quick and easy fishing, and it’s a very scenic spot for sightseeing, as well.
