Great state park to visit, a mile from Blackberry Farm

A state park left in a more natural environment than many. This is a park where you park your car at the entrance an walk form there. Being at the north end of the peninsula, it is much more wooded with great trails and spectacular Lake Michigan access. Well worth the trip if you're looking the see the splendor of the woods.

They have a beach for you and your dog - what more is there to say? Make sure you have water mocs, the stoney shallows are difficult to walk in barefoot. Newport also hosts dark sky events where you have zero light pollution to enjoy the stars like you have never seen them before.

Less crowded Door County State Park with nice walking trails and a beautiful beach. It's also a designated Dark Sky Park.
