A museum full of animals, but there's a catch--they are all preserved by taxidermy. With dioramas and other displays, there is no concern about how the animals are treated or fed. It is a great place for kids especially to see up close and touch many wild animals without fear.

Very family-friendly. All animals are taxidermied, allowing for closer inspection than one often gets in a zoo. It's on the way to the Desert Museum, so if you find yourself wanting to do something more while you're out there, it makes a great (and much cooler, indoor) end to a sightseeing day. This museum is located in Tucson, Arizona (about a 2 hour drive) and would be well worth it if you plan on taking a day trip South of the valley.
