A place there worth a visit and also we could help with tickets for the pope audience if informed early.

With its 320 meters in length and 240 meters in width, it has come to welcome more than 300,000 people. The square was built, by order of Pope Alexander VII, between 1656 and 1667, based on a project by Bernini. The most suggestive way to reach St. Peter's Square is to take Via della Conciliazione, a long road that starts from Castel Sant’Angelo.

St. Peter’S Square was commis- sioned in the 17th century by Pope Alexander VII. It was designed by the heralded successor to Michelangelo, the incomparable Italian sculptor and architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Built in the Baroque style, the great open space was created so that more of the faithful would be able to see and re- ceive the blessing of the Pope.
