Previously a kafeneio (cafe-type venue predominantly frequented by elderly people for socialising over a cup of traditional Greek coffee, shots of ouzo or raki and some nibbles, combined with card or board games), Neos Galerios was transformed to a spot for lunch/dinner or drinks, a great example of urban food scene/nightlife evolution. The new owners were respectful of the previous decoration, the cuisine is interesting and affordable and the restaurant is next to Galerius' palace, in one of the most historic parts of Thessaloniki.
