The sculpture garden is free for all to walk around and explore. During the warmer months, there is a large fountain in the middle to sit around and relax. If you're visiting during the winter season, there is a popular iceskating rink with skate rentals.

The National Gallery of Art is home to DC's famous and much-beloved Jazz in the Garden. Jazz enthusiasts will adore Jazz in the Garden, which not only has diverse and top-notch Jazz performances from all around the world, but is also FREE!! The music is not limited to pure Jazz, but also has Latin, blues, and funk music. The Jazz shows play during May and summer months Friday evening.

The Sculpture Garden is a block-long park with – as you'd expect – sculptures. In the winter, there's an ice-skating rink, and in the summer, there's live jazz on Friday nights, but it's always a good place to stroll through if you're on the National Mall.
