Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. The private lakefront park has a picnic area, a pier to walk or dine on the water, and swings and sand for the kids Short drive to boat marinas with boat rentals, public beaches and launches. Within walking distance is Bugaboo's Bar and Restaurant with outdoor seating and lake views, that also offers kayak rentals.

Wind down and enjoy the country. Pomme Place, our private three bedroom apartment at Apple Blossom Trails, has a private entrance and the amenities of home. We have an apple orchard to roam, animals to watch, an adjacent playground and a great spot for bird watching. A large private deck extends from the apartment providing the perfect place to enjoy an evening. We live on site, adjacent to the apartment. We also have Paul, our musical security person, on site living in a mobile home.

Escape the everyday with a relaxing stay at this cozy cottage located on Flint Lake! Hot tub, pontoon boat, fire pit, gas fireplace, tv, lake front, canoe, kayak, sauna, grill and more. This charming property is lake front with a small 50ft beach area and dock. Use of 2018 Sylvan pontoon boat, canoe, and kayak are included. You will love the lake life. Please note the pontoon boat is only available in season from May 1st to October 1st.

Flint Lake Cottage.

This is a rustic cottage with old world charm. There are 2 fireplaces,. The home sits on a hill overlooking the channel that leads to Flint Lake. - Pet free -May not be appropriate for people with mobility issues. - Earth friendly cleaning products - Private beach & park access - Easy access to city center & university - One hour from downtown Chicago - National Lakeshore and Dunes State Park nearby - Wood fireplaces (winter only!)
