Scarborough is a seaside town with a beautiful coastline of stunning views and sandy beaches. It’s just the place to experience a traditional British seaside holiday with all of the family.
Sightseeing
Cayton Bay beach is a beautiful sandy bay with a backdrop of rocky cliffs. It is a perfect place for dog walks and children will enjoy exploring the historic WW2 fortifications on the sand. It is a perfect spot for surfing and the perfect place to escape the busy Scarborough seafront, whilst taking in the beautiful coastline views. You might even find some fossils amongst the rocks. It is one of our favourite spots to let our kids run off excess energy and explore. Definitely worth a visit!

Cayton Bay beach is a beautiful sandy bay with a backdrop of rocky cliffs. It is a perfect place for dog walks and children will enjoy exploring the historic WW2 fortifications on the sand. It is a perfect spot for surfing and the perfect place to escape the busy Scarborough seafront, whilst taking in the beautiful coastline views. You might even find some fossils amongst the rocks. It is one of our favourite spots to let our kids run off excess energy and explore. Definitely worth a visit!
The kids will love taking the short trip on the North Bay Railway, which runs between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills (near The Sealife centre), passing through the open air theatre. We have spent a lot of time here with our children and they still love it!
You can take a one way trip and walk back along the beach, or stay on for a return and watch the train on the turntable change ends and make it's return journey. A return trip takes about 20 minutes. There are other attractions next to the station, including a sky trail and a historic water chute. For opening times, timetables and fares, check out the website:

This is a family favourite of ours! With it's lively atmosphere, Florios is an excellent place to take the family. It’s great value for money and the food is always delicious! Make sure you try the garlic bread pizzas for starter, great for sharing and they are really scrummy.
