Food scene
will openly admit that I can be sometimes prone to exaggeration… BUT, EatMe have the best chips I have ever eaten in my entire life! EatMe is a stylish little Café that is located either on Hanover Road, or within the Stephen Joseph Theatre itself (You might need to check which they are operating out of!) EatMe specializes in Asian Fusion dishes but you can also hit the jackpot with their special’s menu. I have eaten here dozens of times and I have never had a bad meal. I would recommend the Ramen every time but you really can’t go wrong with anything you pick; you absolutely have to get a side of chips though! EatMe have a delicious selection of home-made cakes and serve alcohol. I really can’t recommend them enough!

Florios is a local family-owned Italian restaurant in the heart of Scarborough town centre. It is the most popular location for meals out with the family. I think it’s safe to say, if you haven’t had a meal here for a special family occasion are you even from Scarborough? Florios by design is cheap and cheerful, and from opening until 7pm you will get happy hour pricing which makes it an absolute steal for how good the food is! I would recommend the garlic bread with tomato for starters, and I love their carbonara!

It is a little bit further afield being on Dean Road but it is definitely worth the walk if you fancy a curry. Cinnamon doesn’t have an alcohol license so they welcome customers to bring their own, which means an even cheaper night! My usual order here is a lamb and spinach balti!

Lezzet is a relatively new Mediterranean Bistro in the heart of the town centre. Although I haven’t had the pleasure of eating here myself my Grandma has given Lezzet her official stamp of approval. I've been reliably informed you cannot make a bad choice form their menu!

El Gringos is located on the clifftops above the south bay. they serve a wide variety of delicious food and the portions are huge! I always go for the 'Grand Slam' which is a combo of steak ,chicken, ribs and two sides!

Cowshed is Scarborough's best burger place, all of their menu is sourced locally and is absolutely delicious. You have to order the halloumi fries for the table!

The Alpamare is Scarborough's newest water park, it boasts a wave pool, an outdoor heated pool, smaller obstacles for children some huge slides for the the rest of the family! I would recommend calling ahead of time and booking where possible!

The Open Air Theatre has attracted a huge variety of acts from local legends to world famous performers such as Kylie Minogue and Elton John. They do sell out of tickets quickly so keep an eye out on their twitter account for act / ticket announcements.

The Sealife Centre is a family favourite, here you can see a wide variety of wildlife, from seaturtles, to sharks and penguins! They also have a mini golf course. The Sealife Centre has a café but I would recommend bringing a pack up as it is on the expensive side!

Flamingo Land is a theme park about a 40 minute drive from Scarborough. They have a huge selection of rides and animals from all around the world. I've had many memorable days out with my family here. I would highly recommend trying to get over there if you can!

Stumble Inn is a micropub that is opposite the train station. The serve a selection of ciders and ales and have board games and books for entertainment. I would highly recommend the fruit ciders!

The Merchant is my favourite pub in Scarborough, they offer a great atmosphere, live music, an open log fire and a wide selection of drinks, ales and spirits. The Merchant also have their own strange milky green minty shot which tastes like after eight mints, it is absolutely delicious!

The Merchant also have their own strange milky green minty shot which tastes like after eight mints, it is absolutely delicious!
The Courtyard is a bar in the centre of Scarborough which has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have outdoor heaters for chilly evenings and TV's inside and out too for those big sporting events.

The Commercial has recently been refurbished and looks lovely. They have sky sports and what seems like a million TV's showing the games. Food here is also good. I would also recommend trying the tiny pizzas for half time!

Storm bar is one of the more sophisticated bars in Scarborough, they make great cocktails and have table football downstairs! a bit on the pricey side but worth it!

The Beach
The Olympia Leisure is the biggest amusement arcade on the beach. It is also Scarborough's only bowling alley that has its own bar. I definitely recommend going for a game or two of bowling while you are here!

THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD! I have not had ice cream better than the harbour bar, they even have cones that can fit every flavour in at once. I would recommend the banana twist, the raspberry twist and the mango twist. The harbour bar is a staple of Scarborough life, cheap and delicious!

Holy Cow is the new trendy icecream and waffle parlour that is a couple of doors down from the Harbour Bar. although expensive their sundaes really are a treat. my favourite is the white kinder bueno sundae.

The Fish Pan is my preferred place for fish and chips. Located opposite the life boat house. They are always very busy but the food is top notch and very cheap! Fish chips and gravy is my favourite order here.
