There are Many great hiking trails and walks. Mosquitoes can be irritating. Make sure to have sturdy shoes and insect repellent. Portable head nets are available at local hardware stores.

There is abundant birdlife as well as other animals. Expect to see golden eagles, bald eagles, osprey, and hawks. There was a recent siting of a pair of otters. Along with more common birds like blue jays, cormorants, gulls, cardinals, varieties of finches, house finch, purple finch, and goldfinch. Orioles and hummingbirds also visit.
