Chacras de Coria is an upper class suburb of Mendoza city. Located about 25 minutes from the airport, and about an hour and a half from the Uco Valley, it’s a great choice for people who don’t want to have to choose between the city and the wine producing region at the foot of the Andes. Chacras de Coria is well maintained, safe and incredibly picturesque. Here you can find tons of cute cafes, delicious restaurants and boutique wineries. It is ideal for spending an afternoon at a boutique winery , and then taking a walk through the town .

Its a good excuse to get out of the city and into the mountains and the views are incredible.

Wine Country

There are a wealth of bodegas and wineries to choose from that offer extended lunch tasting menus, and two of the most popular are Andaluna and the trendy Bodega La Azul, both of which are located close to each other. Andaluna is at the higher end of the spectrum, and its restaurant and bar afford visitors impressive views towards the Andes. La Azul is a more relaxed and rustic affair, so depending on your preference, you can choose to dine in one and head to the other beforehand to have a glass of wine. Make sure to book into both, as they are very popular and arriving without a reservation could leave you disappointed.

Taxi's and Ubers are the ideal way to get around.

Given that you are located so central, you can find Taxi's at nearly every corner - it is surely the fastest way to get around. However if you are not quite sure where you are going or are taking a longer trip I recommend taking an Uber. Taking an Uber will guarantee that you know exactly where you are going and how much you will be charged.

Siestas - The people like their nap time!

The city of Mendoza is awake bright and early. You can expect cafes, restaurants and boutiques opening fairly early however if you don't wake up when the city does you might miss out. Typically around 1:30 pm you can expect most things like pharmacies, local shops, restaurants to close mid-day for siesta and re-open around 5:00pm. It seems like a rather long nap time however the city comes alive again in the evenings and everything stays open far past midnight. However most tours and wineries stay open so I recommend planning your days, and checking the times!

Sundays!

Sundays are for resting! You will find some restaurants and cafes open, however you will notice they close early and will likely not re-open after siesta. Similarly lots of boutiques and stores are simply closed on Sundays as people like to stay home and enjoy their families and some asado! I recommend planning a tour or finding a place to relax because their isn't much going on in the city. This is a good time to visit a park or head up to the mountains.
