This place is amazing for anyone looking to mountain bike, take a hike, paddle boarding, outdoor yoga classes , kid friendly rock climbing, zip lining, white water rafting and more! Check their web page for events. Thursdays in the summer River Jam is in full swing. You can sample local brews and grab som grub while you enjoy the music as people paddle by!

South Mountains State Park

Ranked one of NC best parks, South Mountain never disappoints. Personally one of my favorite places. The park is clean you don’t get service once in the park and it’s nice to unplug. The waterfall is beautiful and if you’ve never seen the carolina boulders they are pretty neat. If you don’t want to hike, just bring your lunch! It’s an 1.5 hours from the house. A beautiful drive where you can add a winery stop at Woodmill (1350 Woodmill Winery Ln, Vale, NC 28168) or stop at local farm stands.

Super cool raptor rehab center. A few years ago I rescued an injured hawk this place is one of the best hear by. It’s also located near Latta Plantation where you can go hiking, kayaking and boating as well as historical tours.
