Be immersed in the peace and quiet of a Tuscan olive orchard by staying in this stone farmhouse which features traditional architectural elements such as terra cotta floors, vaulted ceilings, and original wood fixtures. Dive into the plunge pool with sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. For adventurous travelers who will appreciate the 10-minute panoramic walk to the house (we will transport your luggage and groceries by tractor). The magical view of the world below with the coast on the horizon which can be enjoyed from every room of the house and from the entire olive orchard with its walking paths and plunge pool with waterfall. Being a pedestrian village, Metato is quiet and peaceful. Yet, the beach and many great places to visit are a short drive away- Pisa, Florence, Lucca, the marble quarries of Cararra, Pietrasanta, Viareggio.... Guests have exclusive access to the pool and property. Metato is a friendly litttle village in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There is a quaint family-run restaurant in the village that serves local homemade dishes at a very reasonable price. Our pedestrian village tends to attract kind people in search of peace and quiet and a proximity with nature. Time seems to go by more slowly here. It is a perfect base for families who want to explore Tuscany and the beaches of the Versilia coast. The home is in a beautiful, quiet location on a hill surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Explore the medieval village of Metato where fireflies and breathtaking views await. Take an invigorating hike or head to the beaches a short drive away. There is a parking lot at the base of the village where you can park the car. The village itself is pedestrian but I am happy to greet guests at the parking lot on their arrival to transport their luggage, groceries and whoever wants to ride to the house with my little Italian tractor! The nearest airport is Pisa (45-minutes by car). All the major car rental places can be found there. The nearest train station is Viareggio.

Le Rocche, on the top of a hill offers a breathtaking view, the Villa all on one floor, finished renovating in 2021 by the architect. Gianni Benincasa, has 5 bedrooms, one of which is in the mezzanine and 3 bathrooms. Furnishings, all brand new, of great charm. Another highlight is the 100 m2 terrace. and the BBQ, where you can have lunch and relax. The villa is completely independent and out of sight of prying eyes. The park with olive, cherry and apricot trees is approximately 7,000 m2.

Lari is a charming Tuscan village, perfect for exploring the region. The Ciliegia apartment is an ideal base for visiting Volterra, San Gimignano, and Pisa. If you love the sea, you can quickly reach the Versilia or Etruscan coast. The area is a paradise for food and wine lovers, with many wineries and traditional trattorias. Just a short walk away is the Castello dei Vicari, perfect for a journey through history. And at the end of May, don’t miss the Cherry Festival, a must-see event!

Our property is an old traditional Tuscany farmhouse, completely renovated in the last year. The old farm La Tonnaia gave its name to the street where our house is located. It is an ideal holiday home as a base for daily trips throughout Tuscany, but also for those who want a quiet place to relax whit friends or family, write, paint, compose music.
