Hurricane Helene Update: We are incredibly fortunate that our property did not suffer damage from the storm and the main roads to and from our home are accessible. Internet and power have been restored, and our property is ready to offer a lovely refuge for anyone needing a temporary place to stay. Sleeping Bear Cabin - Blue Ridge Mountains

Sleeping Bear Cabin is nestled away in a private mountain community that has it's own lake and just a two minute drive to the New River at the entrance of the community. The cabin is surrounded by forest with a main deck and an upper deck. Just recently remodeled and redecorated, we designed Sleeping Bear to be the perfect place for anyone to enjoy the mountain life. Fishing, walking, biking, hiking, tubing, kayaking, bird, butterfly, wildlife watchers and 35 -45 minutes to skiing.

We are 10 minutes to downtown West Jefferson or Blue Ridge Parkway entrance, 1/4 mile to New River State Park Elk Shoals river beach and 30 minutes to Boone NC. Nestled in a high mountain meadow just above the New River, this 750 square foot cabin has plenty of amenities and nearly 20 acres for your own private Idaho...there are marked and cleared hiking trails...look for the entrance post to the left "1285."
