As featured on the NYTimes T list, this property is a "Kyomachiya", a traditional Japanese home over 100 years old. It has been revamped from a "Nishijin-ori" (traditional Japanese textile) factory. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

The living room is furnished with comfortable beaded cushions, a Marshall sound system, and a high-definition TV for a relaxing time. After enjoying sightseeing in Hakone, please come and enjoy the extraordinary space at "Hako-Reiro".

We are located in a quiet and relaxing area with lots of wildlife including wild birds, deer and squirrels, bear, badger. We are always open as we update our guest homes. Guest homes include kitchen, bathroom and outside BBQ and fire pit area.
