Gamekeeper’s Cabin is a self-enclosed property ideal for visiting Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Borders, New Lanark, and Dumfries & Galloway. Our rural location on a cycle route just outside the historic market town of Biggar brings privacy, stunning views, and great walks like Coulter Fell or Tinto. We recommend bringing a car (Biggar is a 15-minute walk away), parking is provided.

Relax at this cosy country cottage with a log burner, walled garden and conservatory. Dumra cottage is dog friendly and suitable for everyone with plenty amenities in the area. Netflix , Wifi & nespresso machine. The garden is enclosed with a firepit/BBQ and it situated right next door to the local cafe, Laurel Bank Tea Room. Dumra cottage is just a 10 minute drive to Biggar town and a 15 minute drive to Cornhill Castle wedding venue. Charcuterie board or breakfast hamper available on request.

So if private walks, nature viewing hide, dark skies, plunge pools for a dip and cosy log fires are for you, then you'll love it! Children and dogs are welcome too. The farm has old woodland glens with our very own gorge, ponds which attract a variety of birds and open hill land with a cairn overlooking the town of Moffat.

Literally a moment's walk from the scenic town centre of Moffat with local shops, pubs, restaurants & other amenities. The cottage is next to a river walk & the town, is surrounded by stunning scenery; perfect for avid hillwalkers. Only 5 minutes off the motorway (1.5 hr from Edinburgh,1 hr from Glasgow & 45mins from Carlisle) it's a perfect en route stopover but even better for a week! Welcome!
