Gjestehuset 102 - Standard Single Room with Shared Facilities

A bed in this cozy room provides the perfect spot to rest, whether during the endless polar night or day. As Gjestehuset 102 was once the “millionaires’ mansion” for the most experienced miners, the standard was always higher, with each room featuring its own washbasin. This tradition continues today, with added storage space and a desk if you need to work. Shared bathrooms and toilets are conveniently located in the corridors on both floors, and hairdryers are available at the reception.

A bed in our dormitory offers a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends! Each dormitory includes a wash basin, a closet for toiletries, lockers, and a wardrobe. Please note that our dormitory rooms have limited space and may not be suitable for guests with large or multiple pieces of luggage. They are ideal for backpackers. Lockers are provided in the room to secure your valuables, and padlocks are available for purchase at reception. Rich breakfast and linens are included.

We have two types of bed set-ups in our two-person rooms. The traditional twin beds from when Gjestehuset 102 was the miner’s “millionaires’ mansion”: solid wooden constructions that convert easily to sofas or 2 single beds of 90cm that can be joined if requested. Also in our twins, we have kept the washbasins installed at the time 102 was the high-standard home to Longyearbyen’s miners. WiFi, our rich buffet breakfast, and bed linen and towels are included in the price.

Comfortable double rooms on the 1st floor. The kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and showers are shared. There is a bar and a restaurant in front of the building. Within walking distance, there is a local canteen, grocery and household stores, a library, a coworking space, a sports center with 3 gyms, a sauna, and a swimming pool (soon to open). Only long-term rental housing.
