We are extremely fortunate to have the Mountains within a 40 minute drive. There are numerous walks on and around the mountain to take in... take a ride to the top on the chair lift and enjoy the magnificent views of the Central Plateau in the summer, or enjoy the fantastic skiing on Mt Ruapehu from July to October. The Wanganui river runs through our town that provides fantastic adventures jet boating or with guided or solo trips kayaking/canoeing ..the scenery is spectacular! The recently completed "Timber Trail", with over 100km of differing distanced trails, that offers the more energetic traveller amazing bike rides through bush, native forest, and over department of conservation land where wildlife and native bush areas are preserved. There is trout fishing, game hunting, or perhaps a game of golf. Forgotten World Adventures, the towns newest tourist attraction, will take you on a picturesque journey over farm land and country side, unable to be visited by car, travelling along disused railway lines in a modified golf cart! Ruapehu Log Lodge

Big Canadian log house sited high on a hill with gardens adjacent to spacious deck with undercover five seater spa. Large living area downstairs. Complimentary continental breakfast with home made crumpets and raspberry jam. Breakfast room with access onto deck with awesome view of Mt Ruapehu. Upstairs lounge equipped with childs' toys, books and activities.. Well equipped kitchen with walk in pantry. Up to two well behaved dogs are allowed downstairs, dog sitting available. Comfortable Studio (with bonus glow worm grotto!)

The property is NZ lifestyle... with the intention to be self sufficient. A hectare of native forest shelter the house and gardens creating a totally private oasis with birdlife and magnificent views over Acacia Bay. Free range hens give eggs and an apiary in the orchard, honey. The self contained studio is downstairs with a king bed, a divan bed and ensuite. A small patio is beyond the french doors. Linen and towels are provided. Breakfasts are available, and a 3 course evening meal on request.

Omaka Lodge - The Ruapehu Suite

Omaka Lodge is a boutique bed & breakfast venue situated alongside New Zealand’s iconic Forgotten Highway. The Ruapehu Suite is a self-contained luxury suite occupying a floor to itself and including a bedroom, bathroom, and open-plan living-dining-kitchen with oven and dishwasher. Continental breakfast is largely homemade and is served in the guest dining room. Omaka Lodge is a delightful treat for garden lovers, with our 3+ acre garden being rated a 5-Star Garden of National Significance.

Kinloch Lodge - Cypress Room

Our home is located in Kinloch 20 minutes from Taupo, a short walk from the lake and access to Kinloch's renowned cycling tracks. We have three large guest bedrooms each with ensuite located on the first floor overlooking green vistas. There is a large shared guest TV and entertainment lounge on the first floor opening onto a large private deck with external staircase and access to a Hot Springs spa pool. The back gate opens onto the putting green. A few steps to a fantastic round of golf.

With breathtaking views of Mount Ruapehu and set in world heritage national parks, join us at The River Lodge and experience the essence of this unique location in comfort and style. Nestled in tranquil gardens sheltered by native Beech trees take the time to enjoy one of New Zealand's first class wines watching the sun set over Mt Ruapehu. Sit beside the Mangawhero River which runs serenely as a border for much of the lodge surroundings. The wooden hot Tub can be booked for additional 50.-

Jailhouse Ridge - Private Spa Pool & 7 Acres

Jailhouse Ridge is a fully self-contained unit with its own private access, ideal for couples. It is surrounded with 7 acres of gardens, ponds & paddocks. Your own private spa awaits you on the deck & is serviced daily. With a Queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, en-suite & log fire, it has everything you need for a fantastic stay. The mezzanine floor, accessed by a steep staircase, has a sofa, 42" TV , Freeview, DVD, WIFI. An extra 32" TV with Chrome-cast is downstairs.

Olive Rabbit, Bed & Breakfast, Room 3 - Queen

The Olive Rabbit design is based on the modern colonial concept. We are a boutique bed and breakfast, offering privacy in your own bedroom & bathroom, with a shared lounge & dining. Your hosts will provide your breakfast and assist with further evening drinks before retiring. We pride ourselves in providing personal hospitality. Cut lunches can be ordered for the Tongariro Crossing or fishing trips at an additional cost. Suitable dining options can be recommended.

Motuoapa Retreat - Pied-A-Terre

We are located at Motuoapa and are close to many activites in the area. 10 minutes walk from Lake Taupo and 10km north of Turangi. Mount Ruapehu is 45 minutes drive away, walking and biking trails close by, including the renowned Tongariro Crossing, numerous rivers, including the Tongariro River for fly fishing. We can also take you fly fishing with gear supplied. We are fully conversant with what is available in the local area.

Moe Marie (sleep peacefully) B & B

Self check in We offer a lovely quiet & private stand alone, self contained studio on a rear fully fenced section, you have your own space, perfect for couples, babies catered for too Continental breakfast is included, we don't do gluten/dairy free. We have recently installed a cedar hot tub, our guests have exclusive use of this anytime during the stay. It is not available to friends or family of our guests.
