Custom designed and hand-built by the hosts, this backyard cottage is a sanctuary in the city. After a day of exploring nearby beaches, beautiful parks, kayaking the sound or eating your way through the Farmer’s Market, come home and unwind on the private deck. Free street parking! A short walk to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, Whole Foods & Trader Joe’s. Finished in 2016, this new, custom-built studio cottage is tucked away in a private setting. The 400 sq. ft. craftsman style space is thoughtfully designed to incorporate natural daylight through large windows and high pine wood cathedral ceilings. The tasteful, modern craftsman interior creates a cozy home away from home and offers all you need for an overnight or an extended stay. Your fully equipped kitchen offers quartz countertops, a sink with Grohe faucet, petite 4-burner stove with oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker (coffee provided!), and everything you need to prepare meals, if you prefer to eat in. You'll sleep comfortably in the queen sized bed with new memory foam mattress and enjoy a full bathroom with a brand new tiled shower/tub. A CB2 Flex Full-size Sleeper Sofa (rated best sleeper sofa by Apartment Therapy) can accommodate another guest. Your cottage is set back from the street in our private backyard, atop our garage (not parked in, and rarely opened), surrounded by trees and a greenbelt behind our house. It is designed to be eco-friendly with SIP panels, LED lighting, heat pump water heater and radiant floor heating. Serene, healthy, and beautiful - and close to everything! It's perfect for out of town guests, vacationers, a staycation, or business travelers. You have the benefit of a completely private space above our detached garage with full 24-hour access, free on-street parking, and a private entrance. There are 12 stairs from the driveway to the cottage, which is a second story unit. Fresh sheets and towels are provided for longer visits, upon request. Privacy is all yours, though we're happy to help you with navigate our neighborhood and Seattle, and provide recommendations if desired. West Seattle is a sought-after neighborhood that is perfect for foodies, shoppers, families, adventurers, outdoor lovers and those visiting the city and the great Pacific Northwest--and only a 10-15 minute drive from downtown! Visit famous Alki Beach & take a walk along Lincoln Park. Walk to one of our many locally owned coffee shops, or pick up some fresh flowers or artisan made goodies on Sundays at the local Farmer's Market. Enjoy one of our many delicious restaurants. The cottage is so walkable! Your cottage is very close to the Metro city bus lines (1-3 blocks depending on what # bus) which provides easy access to hot spots like West Seattle’s own Alki Beach, a sandy Puget Sound beach with a walking/bike path, paddle boarding, canoes, and numerous eateries and coffeehouses, or beautifully wooded Lincoln Park with walking trails and huge native trees. Or zip downtown Seattle (10-15 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus) to the take in the Waterfront, Pike Place Market, retail shopping, music venues, Seattle Center and the Space Needle, Washington State Convention Center, Starbucks headquarters, Seattle Art Museum and Pioneer Square art galleries, Safeco Field (baseball), CenturyLink Field (football), or a Washington State Ferry and much more. Light rail is also available to and from SeaTac airport with one bus transfer. You can also access Car2Go in Seattle if you have a membership. Street parking is free for Car2Go anywhere in the city. We have plenty of free street parking on our street for a vehicle or rental car. We are eager to welcome you to your cottage and enjoy the benefits of meeting new people from near and far. We are Northwest natives and college sweethearts, who have lived and traveled internationally. Now, we reside in Seattle, working to better our world through a child-focused international relief & development organization, and engineering for energy efficiency of our natural resources. Wine/Apple Country Cottage, Centrally Located

Play golden oldies on an upright piano in a home filled with antique furniture, folk art, and lots of books and games. The kitchen and bathroom also retain their vintage vibe. A drop leaf desk and 100 mbps Wi-Fi provide a comfortable working space. Come in the spring or summer to see the garden in full bloom! (Photos included here do not do it justice...) The dappled shade of a grape covered pergola is a wonderful place for lunch. The house has two bedrooms that look out on the gardens. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has a double bed. There is a well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. Water in the house is delicious, purified well water. A 55" tv is in one of the bedrooms (disguised by a pull-down map). It has Roku but no cable. Enjoy lots of games and books to read, a piano in the living room and access to high speed internet and WiFi. Wander in the gardens or orchard in the back. Relax or dine under the shady grape arbor. The house is located in apple country, outside the small town of Sebastopol. It's very easy to find in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood across the street from a Christmas tree farm. Apple orchards and vineyards are within walking distance. The quaint town of Graton is half a mile away. It has an art gallery operated by local artists, an antique store and a variety of restaurants including the Underwood Bar and Bistro, rated as "number 4 of America's 50 Most Amazing Wine Experiences by the Food and Wine Magazine." We also have over 40 wineries, including the top rated: Merry Edwards, FEATURED IN JULY 2014 ISSUE OF SUNSET MAGAZINE and just 0.2 miles from the house! Graton Ridge Cellars, FEATURED IN JULY 2014 ISSUE OF SUNSET MAGAZINE and 0.6 miles from the house! Red Car Wine Company, 0.3 miles away. Iron Horse Vineyards also featured in July 2014 issue of Sunset Magazine and 3.6 miles from the house! Other recommended wineries in Sebastopol include: Lynmar Iron Horse Taft Street Cahill Dutton-Goldfield (one third mile from house) Scherrer Freeman Marimar. Enjoy several hiking trails close by, or drive on scenic country roads directly from the house to a variety of attractions. There is a gorgeous half-hour drive through the town of Occidental to the ocean. The Russian River Steelhead Beach is 5.6 miles away. Drive ten minutes farther to visit Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve where you can walk through a towering forest of trees that are hundreds of years old. Historic Healdsburg, with its central plaza, shops, restaurants and wineries is also a scenic 25 minute drive away. The 9-hole Sebastopol Golf Course is a little over a mile away. There is a variety of grocery stores in Sebastopol. My favorite is Andy's, a fruit and vegetable stand that also carries other food. It takes 3 minutes to drive there. This area was not impacted by the fires.

Riverside Grouse Creek Inn

Listen to the burbling river from the private hot tub to a mountain backdrop, while the deep jetted tub in the main bathroom is an equally welcome sight. The gourmet kitchen has a Viking stove, while the wood-rich interior includes 2 gas fireplaces. New luxury king mattress and bed in the main bedroom! This property used to provide the "Rooms on the River" when it was part of the Minturn Inn on Main street. Now this coveted spot is all for you. Tucked out of the way on a quiet street it's the perfect place to relax after a hard day of mountaineering. The apartment consists of the great room and the master bedroom suite. The master bedroom has a king bed, private bedside fireplace, en-suite bathroom with jetted bath tub, glass shower and hot tub right outside your bedroom door. The main room contains a queen bed with privacy curtains which has direct access to the main bathroom and shower. The main room also contains a full gourmet kitchen, breakfast bar, round table that seats 6, 50" tv with cable, and pull out sleeper sofa. The apartment opens directly out to the yard right on the river. The entire apartment is private including private entrance. The yard is shared with us, however we rarely use it since our children prefer the front/street side of the house where they can ride their bikes! My wife or I will often be out fly-fishing in our backyard river in the summer evenings. We're happy to share the space and tell you what's biting! Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible. Or even high-heel accessible. Boots are recommend to walk through the shoveled path that takes you to the riverside entrance. There is a rope handrail to help guide you but you must be sure-footed. Our family of four live in the completely separate upstairs. I'm normally available for anything that comes up, but do not want to impede on your relaxing riverside vacation. Minturn is a small ski town away from the bustle of Vail and Beaver Creek. Stroll to several restaurants, a winery, quaint gift shops, a record store, and perhaps the best fly shop in the mountains. Ski, raft, and mountain bike just minutes away. There is free parking in the driveway. There is a bus stop a 3-minute walk away that will take you to Vail for $4. Ubers and taxis are also available. Our home and property is non-smoking. No pets please. Pack n' Play with fitted sheet in unit. Ironing board/iron, fan, extra blankets, picnic basket/backpack, hair dryer in each bathroom.

Atascadero Guesthouse Central Coast Wine Country

This light and airy hideaway was designed and built by the host incorporating her own handiwork in art and furnishings. Initially a granny flat, it's been transformed into a comfortable and spacious hang out. Its central location makes it ideal to explore the area. There is plenty to do on site; barbecue, play corn hole or horseshoes have fun with games and cards kept in the hall, enjoy the pool and hot tub in the warm season. May to Sept. The twin beds can be easily configured to a king bed. Price includes a 13% local occupancy tax. Your cottage opens up to the pool area which maybe available during the summer months but not guaranteed as this pool is too deep for kids to stand in. There is also a hot tub open from March to Dec. So the key to open the pool is subject to conversation. The pool is shared with us. No parties please. This is a non smoking property. We love dogs but we can not allow pets brought in. We have a large dog and cats. We kindly ask for slow driving up and down driveway as the animals are slow to move as they own the space. These are accommodations you wont find at a hotel. We are not one, this is our home we are opening to share with you. We are next door most times if you have any questions otherwise we will respect your privacy. The guest house sits on three acres with the main house where the host lives with her husband. It is just one and a half miles to the freeway and town. Four minutes to restaurants and grocery stores. There are chickens, 2 baby gosts, and a rabbit on the property along with cats and a large dog, Jules, who is sure to greet you. The pool will be opened to guests that can swim only as the shallow end is quite deep. Opened when the temperature increases in the summer months. A cold pool is no fun to swim in. The hot tub is open in March to Dec. Contact hosts if plan to use.

26th Street Studio - West Downtown Boise

A fresh and airy guest house located a mile from the center of downtown Boise. Relax in our claw foot bathtub after a long day of exploring the nearby whitewater park, foothills, green belt or downtown scenery. Cook in the kitchen or walk to nearby restaurants for your meals. Sip your morning coffee on the patio while you plan your next adventure. You'll sleep soundly in the comfortable king sized bed. We hope you'll enjoy Boise but it will be hard to leave your sanctuary at 26th Street Studio.
