1846 Farmhouse Retreat | Near Hocking Hills

Wake up to a view of a 19th-century gristmill right outside your window — then walk across the street to explore it. The Rock Mill Farmhouse is a thoughtfully renovated 1846 home that was once the dwelling of the mill's keeper, and it still carries that history in every room: exposed original siding and beams, a winding staircase, an original A-frame ceiling in the upstairs bedroom, and a few charmingly low doorways that keep tall guests humble.

My wife and I bought this house at a sheriff sale. We didn’t buy it with our brain, we bought it with our heart. “How stupid was that” We couldn’t continue to watch this unique house continue its march toward too far gone to fix. It also has an eight-seat hot tub, a large deck, firepit, plenty of hiking with beautiful rock outcroppings, and a creek that runs through the middle of the property.
