Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Quaint rustic Cottage with a wood fire

Our cottage is vintage, yet with a modern charm, with CDs and DVDs as well as board games, jigsaws, books and National Geographic from yesteryear. Nestled in the grounds of our 1890s built villa the cottage has a history all of its own. It was originally down on the grass, being moved up the hill in the 70's. The house was built by a sawmill owner who also built the cinema/theatre in town in 1915. The theatre is being restored and now shows movies of yesteryear on occasion. Ask us for more info

Welcome to ALBA, our little cottage. Located on a, semi-rural cul-de-sac 5 mins from Turangi. There is NO wifi Our cosy cottage has two bedrooms, large bathroom/laundry space and an open plan kitchen, dining, living area heated by a large heat pump. The mighty Tongariro River with its world famous trout fishing pools is at the end of the road, the Turangi township is a 5 min drive or a beautiful walk past the river and the Whakapapa ski field and Tongariro crossing are only 40mins away.

Echolands Valley Lodge

This homestead is 7.5kms from Taumarunui and situated on a Stud Sheep & Cattle farm thats surrounded by everyday country life. It is set is on a large section amongst a variety of beautiful plants, shrubs and trees. You can visit the many attractions nearby including The New Sky Waka Gondolas up Mt Ruapehu only 49kms away or relax and enjoy some quiet country life. It has a log fire to keep you warm in winter and open plan with doors opening off every room onto a deck for hot summers.

Kosbys Cottage, Tongariro

Kosbys Cottage, Tongariro provides excellent value for money, offering ample space for families (children over 2 years old) or small groups of friends. A snug retreat during winter, thanks to a very efficient wood-burner (there is no heat pump). The spacious couch is perfect for unwinding, while the well-equipped kitchen, resembling that of a caterer’s, includes an espresso machine and opens out onto a charming patio area with a barbecue, herb garden, and stunning vistas.

Please note this is an unserviced holiday home. You will Need to supply your own linen and towels etc. Our wonderful bach full of character, is an old mill house which belonged to the local timber mill from the 1940-50s. It then spent several years as the Tauranga ski club, before being lovingly restored into a groovy bach full of rustic charm. It's the perfect place to getaway and relax, or to use as a base after your high octane adventures around the Central Plateau.

Wairere Farm Cottage Ongarue

Wairere Cottage is the perfect place to stay before or after biking the Timber Trail. Situated 2 ks down a private driveway off SH4. Wairere Cottage sits peacefully on our working sheep & beef farm. 5 mins to Ongarue village, 40 mins drive to TeKuiti, 20 mins to Taumarunui. Makes it an ideal base to go off mountain biking(Timber trail), walking, railcarts, jetboating, golfing all in Taumarunui. With Skiing at Mt Ruapehu. Stunning night sky ( Weather permitting)

We are so close to some amazing scenery, Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngaruhoe, Mt Tongariro. The Tongariro Crossing needs no introduction! Less than 2km from SH4, it's a quick drive to neighboring villages, National Park, Whakapapa and Owhango. This is such a stunning part of NZ, we're excited to share our wee Hill Block with you !
