We are in easy reach of some of NZ's' most stunning hikes. An Easy 40 minutes to Whakapapa ski field and Tongariro Crossing, local river walks, supermarket and eateries 10 mins. Ski season is all go.

Turangi is an adventurer's paradise year round and many complete the Tongarario Alpine Crossing as it’s about the closest accommodation you will find.

"The Unit" is a Private self contained space away from the main house at the rear of the Garage. It is cosy with views of the countryside. Located 3 minutes up the hill from Taihape township. The Unit gives you all the comforts of home on your journey so you can relax and enjoy your stay. Taihape is a farming town and with the Main Highway going right through it's centre, plenty of choice for dining out. Taihape is commonly Warm summer and cold winter weather. We cater for both.

Cosy Cottage Retreat Motuoapa

Welcome to our little part of paradise, fully self contained cosy cottage, with off street parking, 5 minutes walk to the local marina and lake, stopping off for brekkie or lunch at the local cafe. For those fisherpeople you will be 10 to 20 minutes drive from world class trout/fly fishing spots. Turangi is 10 minutes drive south, with great cafes and restaurants, 40 minutes to Mt Ruapehu for fabulous skiing and the Sky Waka. Turangi is the hub for the adventure tourism activities.

Cabin life in the country

2 cabins side by side with a forever changing view. Peace and quiet in the country to relax and unwind with family or friends. Each cabin is identical with a queen size bed, fridge, microwave and tv. There’s a spa pool between the 2 cabins. A bbq to cook your dinner on. The ablution block consists of a shower and toilet which is 10 metres away from the cabins . Attached is an outside sink to wash any dishes. There’s also a gym to use which is free to guests.

Off grid home in Taihape

Enjoy the spectacular views of the central Plateau and get away from it all in this newly built home. This little house uses ‘passive house’ standards to minimise energy consumption and maximise occupant comfort, making it one of the most comfortable places to be all year around! Hopwood Farm is a 2-hectare property high on a hill overlooking the Papakai Valley, only 5 mins drive from Taihape and State Highway 1.
