Cottage on the beach

The cottage is right on the shore. It is self contained with a kitchen area and small bathroom. The twin beds, on a mezzanine floor, can be hooked up to make a super king-sized bed. Guests will have access to the beach and a garden area. Parking is on site. Although there is no washing machine, I can wash clothes for guests in my house which is next door. I live next door and will interact with guests as much or as little as they wish. I am usually at home, but if I am travelling I will arrange for a neighbour to keep contact with my guests. Coney Island is between Ardglass and Killough. There are shops and restaurants in both. It is under an hour from Belfast and within sight of the Mourne Mountains and Newcastle. Ardglass has a golf course and there are lots of opportunities locally for walking, fishing and watersports. Public transport is limited, but possible. There is a bus from Dublin airport with a connection to Downpatrick. There is a bus from both Belfast airports with connections to Downpatrick, about six miles from Coney Island. If I am home I will pick up guests from Downpatrick. Taxi fare is around £10. The upper floor is accessible to able bodied adults and children, but would present problems to anyone with mobility problems. (See Pic)

Home comforts by the Mournes

Only minutes from Slieve Donard and Newcastle beach. The Guest House situated in the centre of Newcastle, Co. Down. It is ideal for walkers and ramblers. It can accommodate up to 2 adults on a sofa bed (plus one child in a camp bed). Accommodation is dog friendly. Facilities include shower, TV, electric fire, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, toaster and washing machine. A basket of local homemade bread, cereals, milk and fruit is provided on arrival. Bicycles can be hired on request.

The Nest

This stylish place to stay is perfect for a quiet get away with family or friends. Close to Newry City as well as the local bus. It is situated 2 minutes from the A1 motor way and 5 minutes from Newry Train Station. Guests can enjoy a wide range of nearby attractions including Slieve Gullion Forest Park, The Mourne Mountains, along with the beautiful costal town of Carlingford. Located 50 minutes from Dublin and 40 minutes from Belfast, this location is ideal for exploring the local area.

Mac's Place

Located 5 minute drive to the picturesque villages of Blackrock and Castlebellingham. Set in a peaceful garden setting of the original farm house which dates back to 1852. The newly refurbished area provides a light airy space with fully fitted kitchen, lounge area, small mezzanine area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Extra rooms are available on request. Guests have their own entrance, parking and outdoor seating area. Guests have full use of the garden, play area and hammocks.

A cosy place in the heart of the Mournes

Relax and unwind in our cosy space in the heart of the Mournes. We are at the foot of the Ulster way, with the track to the Mourne mountains in one direction and Tollymore forest in the other a stroll is always sanctioned! Then come back and fall asleep In front of the log burner. Meelmore lodge coffee shop is a 10 minute walk Newcastle is 10 minute drive Belfast is a 1hr drive, or 1hr bus journey from Newcastle You really are in the heart of the mountains here!

Kitchen, living room and shower room on ground floor. 5 mins drive to Seagrave’s (wedding venue), Port (Blue Flag) beach & Salterstown swimming Pier. 10 mins drive from M1 via Dunleer, 1 hr approx Dublin Airport ( traffic depending). 1hr 30 mins, Belfast. Please note, no oven/washing machine, electric hob & microwave available. Panoramic views of the east coast.

Holbrook Guest House

Lovely one bed self-contained flat located on the outskirts of Armagh City, just off the main Portadown Road. This guest house has been newly renovated in the last couple of years so it is fresh and fully furnished. It is on the premises of our family home in a quiet, safe and rural area. An Lochta

An Lochta is a converted , two story, 19th century grain store, surrounded by a mature and carefully tended garden on a small farm, set in the idyllic rustic peace and quiet of rural Co Meath. Despite our seclusion, we are just 10 minutes from the M1 motorway, 1 hour from Dublin and within easy reach of the major historical sites of Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan. (Unfortunately the layout of the building renders it unsuitable for wheelchair users).
