An additional small bedroom with a single bed is perfect for a 3rd guest or more space to spread out. Close to major attractions of the area and ideal to access the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Custom-built, eco-friendly, tiny house peacefully nestled among kōwhai, plum, maple & feijoa trees on one of Taupō's township's largest sections (Richmond Heights suburb - 7 minute drive to CBD). Interior design is Scandinavian - light & airy. Recently built, the double-glazing, insulation & heat pump will keep you toasty warm in winter & cool in summer. Screens (unusual in Aotearoa) allow you to catch an evening breeze without uninvited insects sneaking in! Contactless check-in via lockbox.

Lochwood Ski and Summer Cottage

Lochwood is a light, spacious and warm retreat. Scandi, homely decor. A home-away-from home with a well-equipped kitchen, espresso machine, and tea and coffee facilities. A reserve and playground are across the road with a tennis court and basketball hoop 2 minutes walk away. The Motuoapa Marina and Liquorice cafe are nearby. Excellent access to Lake Taupo, Tongariro crossing, Whakapapa skifield, Tongariro River track and bike tracks, the western bays, thermal pools and Lake Rotopounamu.

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).
