An ideal ‘base camp’ as you explore the National Park and surrounding area. Light a fire and get lazy, chill out in the hottub, star-gaze at the incredible night skies, or just take in the majestic Pen y Fan as you plan (or recover from) your ascent.

The Herdwick Hut

Breathtaking views.Inside you will find the Herdwick Hut has beautiful finishing's and incorporates a double bed a hob, sink, fridge and en-suite bathroom. Originally built in the 13th century, Jinks Cottage was home to the village cobbler (called Jinks), his wife and six children. Now carefully restored, it provides a spacious country retreat for four, plus your four-legged friends, as we’re very dog friendly!

This simple and charming detached Bothy sits on the Wales/Herefordshire borders on the edge of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park, it is perfect for couples or individuals, but sorry no dogs. The area is rich in wildlife and perfect for walking, cycling, fishing, bird/nature watching or simply relaxing. The village of Longtown is nearby (2 miles) with its very own 12th century castle, a traditional local pub/restaurant and an excellent shop selling local produce .
