We grow our food in an organic way and we have 8 chickens and 2 goats, which provide us with fresh milk and eggs every day. So don't waste your time in crowded resorts and boring apartments. Beautiful traditional stone built Cretan cottage on the slopes of Mount Kedros. Gourgouthes is an abandoned village 680m above sea level, if you like peace and tranquility this place is for you. Surrounded by Oak woods and fruit trees with fantastic views of Mount Psilitoris. No air pollution and not much light pollution makes for amazing star gazing from the roof garden. Delicious mountain spring water straight from the tap. A haven for birds and wildlife. Eagles and vultures soaring above.

Great for walkers and animal lovers, this accommodation is part of a former "Kafenion", situated in the heart of a traditional Cretan village in the hills. Nearby is the pretty and bustling town of Spili, with its tavernas, shops, pharmacy, health centre and post office. Prices from €35 (spring and autumn) to €40 including a basic breakfast. The WiFi only works outside. Loving dogs and cats is essential, if you wish to stay here, as I have 4 dogs and several cats. . Having a car is essential.
