Houndswood Farm

We have been told by people that driving the road to our farm feels like going back in time. We are located on a small narrow lane (boreen). Our beautiful farmyard is surrounded by magnificent dry stone walls that divide field boundaries and give you the link between past and present. We have worked hard over a number of years to convert the beautiful traditional stone outbuildings into modern comfortable accommodation for you to enjoy, we hope you like visiting as much as we like living here.

Newly refurbished home, situated close to N17 with a spacious enclosed garden and yard. An ideal location to use as a base for the wild Atlantic way with Galway, Westport, Sligo less than an hours drive away. 15 km to Knock airport, 3 km to knock, 2 to Claremorris. The house offers 2 living areas, spacious kitchen\dining room, 3 beds, 2 bath. The house offers a mix of modern and traditional features, with fully equipped kitchen, wood burner, oil central heating, WiFi and modern amenities.

Cosy Cottage

Kick back and relax in this calm, cosy space in the rolling countryside and just a 40 minute drive from Knock Airport. For something more lively there’s Westport and Castlebar, with their shops, bars and the beautiful coastline and beaches of the Wild Atlantic Way. The 2 friendly cats, Muffin and Bruce, prefer to live outside but like to say hello. When not away working, I stay in a chalet on a separate piece of land close by but not overlooking the cottage. I do respect guest privacy.

Feel refreshed when you stay in this rustic gem. This newly built log cabin sleeps up to 3 people comfortably but 4 if required with the use of the fold out sofa bed, warming electric fire and mod cons such as kitchenette, heating, smart TV and tea making facilities. Bathroom with hot shower situated just next door in an additional log cabin. Both log cabins are fully covered out front with a veranda. Additional accommodation available, check for availability. We are very proud to share with you our unique old converted guest cottage built over 100 years. A great gateway into the Wild Atlantic Way routes of Connaught. You are welcome to use our shebeen also.

Ballindooley Castle

The Castle rests on about half an acre of land with Ballindooley Lake lying to the south west. It is surrounded by low walls and hedges: with a gated entrance controlled by an electronic security system. Features include 3 murders holes and a dungeon The castle was built by the DeBurgo family (approximately 1480). It had the distinction of being shelled by the British Gunboat ” Helga” during the1916 Rising to disband rebels

Creggduff Cottage

Newly renovated bungalow situated 10km drive from Galway city. Creggduff Cottage is located down a quiet lane 4km from the local village of Corrandulla, 13km from Headford and 29km from Cong. This house is a wonderful starting point for visiting the Wild Atlantic Way, Cong, Cliffs of Moher and exploring Galway city.
