Explore thousands of acres of the Bayfield County Forest and enjoy endless miles of exceptionally maintained non-motorized recreational trails. The yurt has direct access to CAMBA mountain bike trails and Mt. Ashwabay ski trails. The landscape is also spectacular. Take in the panoramic views of Lake Superior and the Onion River valley. This is a rustic, minimally maintained yurt set in the middle of the county forest, so come prepared to relax, unwind and explore the wonders of the north woods.

Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

Channel your inner Mark Twain. Read, rock, and relax on the water, at the foot of a retired Northern Pacific Ore dock. The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Yellow Dog Yurt - Peace and Quiet near Marquette

Located 25 minutes north of Marquette, our yurt is simple and rustic without electricity and a woodstove is the only heat source. We provide bedding, water in buckets, a simple kitchen, a battery pack for string lights, and a sauna for warming the bones. We encourage and cater to silent-sport type of guests as we have kind and close neighbors on all sides. No shooting, loud off road vehicles, etc. are permitted. - Wood heat only - Outhouse toilet - Limited parking

Built in 1974, this rustic and architecturally unique cabin is an all wood modified A-Frame nestled in the woods of the Upper Peninsula. Located 20 minutes from Marquette and 30 minutes from Munising, our home offers a quiet place to relax and feel close to nature.
