Machiya near Palace - A day in Khaki Muromachi (E)

As featured on the NYTimes T list, this property is a "Kyomachiya", a traditional Japanese home over 100 years old. It has been revamped from a "Nishijin-ori" (traditional Japanese textile) factory. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

愛媛県伊予市下灘駅の近くの海岸沿いに、一日一組限定の一軒貸しの民泊施設がオープン。 目の前に広がるのは見渡す限り美しく青く澄み渡った空と海。　漆喰をベースに落ち着いた空間を演出。 瀬戸内海を一望でき海の目の前で一階には、夕日を見ながら、スタイリッシュなキッチンで料理ができます。 二階には、テラスで夕日を見ながら、つくろぐことができます。 クイーンサイズのベットが一つ。クイーンサイズに変わるkoalaのソファーベットが一つ。　 二階には、ダブルのベッドが一つ。 最大4名様まで宿泊できます。 朝ごはんの自然酵母パン、ロダンコーヒー、付きです。 食器は、愛媛県出身陶芸家の佐々木智也の作品と、ムスタキビ、龍泉窯を使用しております。タオルは、今治タオルの伊織のタオルを使用しております。　シーツは、リネンを使用しております。 もし、ご夕食が必要な場合は、隣接しているShiojiレストランで、ゲスト様のみ使用する事ができます。 駅への送迎は無料でしております。 豊かで想い出に残る素晴らしいひと時をお届けします。 他には類を見ない瀬戸内の絶景を望む別荘でお楽しみください。

This is what you’ll find at Grandma’s House, a tastefully preserved mid-twentieth century cottage five minutes on foot from Toyoumi Beach in Kujukuri town.
