Our shoreline’s tall trees and the open water near Mehaffey Bridge attract both resident and migrating eagles all winter. Winter months bring especially high activity as northern lakes freeze and the birds gather here to fish.

Cabin Cove By the River

Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams. The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway.
