Converted Shepherds Cottage in Traditional Cork Forest, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen & private terrace and a family shared swimming pool is available. Situated in beautiful countryside of cork trees, olive groves and vineyards, on the foothills of the Serra D’ Ossa 20 km south of Estremoz. Ideal for sight seeing in a scenic and historic part of Portugal and within easy reach by motorway of Lisbon (2 hours) and Spain (1 hour). There are a myriad of activities to enjoy on the farm. For the walkers or mountain bikers there are kilometers of footpaths around the 540 hectare farm for you to explore and for those wishing to venture further afield, the nearby peaks offer unrivalled views of the surrounding countryside. Serra d’Ossa lies at 500 metres above sea level and boasting one of the driest climates in Europe. The absence of light pollution makes this an astronomers’ paradise. Twitchers can enjoy seeking out over 70 species of birds in the unique habitat provided by the cork forest, several of our past guests are members of the RSPB and have made lists of the birds they have seen / heard. Here is a list of a few: White Stork, Booted Eagle, Red Kite, Kestrel, Cuckoo, Tawny Owl, Hoopoe, Red-Rumped Swallow, Great Bustard, Little Bustard and Bee Eater. Visitors to the local damn include black winged stilts and the occasional avocet. Very occasionally, bustards can be seen in the lower plains. Within a one-hour drive from the farm, you can also explore nearby towns including Evora (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Estremoz famed for its Saturday morning market, Vila Viçosa with its two royal palaces, Reguengos and even neighbouring Spain. Historical tours of Evora can also be arranged through a private guide. Vineyards : While predominantly a hilly cork forest , a vineyard has recently been planted in an open valley producing Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz, Touriga Nactional and Syrah quality grapes. Most of the grapes are sold; however a selection of the best quality grapes are retained for the production of a high quality red wine sold in Portugal under the Cem Reis label, and in the Netherlands under the Het Tientje name. This wine has been awarded silver medals in Wine Masters Challenge (Portugal), Mundus Vini (Germany), and Challenge Du Vin (France). Next year a white wine will also be produced from viognier grapes. Our wine and some products are available for purchase onsite.

House with panoramic views in the center of Évora

Fragoso is a friendly and welcoming family house situated in the historic center of Évora, five minutes from the famous Temple of Diana - the only Roman temple in the Iberian Peninsula - as well as the cathedral and other monuments of interest. Centennial house completely restored with the comfort of modern life. On the ground floor is the kitchen - living room. The kitchen is equipped with stove, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The thick walls allow natural freshness in hot weather. A wood stove will provide warmth and well being during the cooler days. On the second floor there are two separate bedrooms, one equipped with two single beds and the other furnished with a double bed “art nouveau” style. This room has a small balcony with a panoramic view of the Cathedral and the Temple of Diana. You will have a private access to the terrace where you can enjoy a more comprehensive view of the city. The bathroom has a shower, private toilet and washbasin. Towels and bed sheets are provided. There is paid parking (except Sundays and national Holidays) 30 meters from home, and within 200 meters you can park your car for free.

Casa situada no centro histórico de Évora, numa rua sossegada onde é possível estacionar. Todos os quartos são grandes e luminosos. A casa é antiga e com pormenores únicos, e foi recuperada recentemente. Todos os quartos têm ar condicionado, televisão, armário para a roupa e sofás. Um dos quartos tem casa de banho com duche e os outros dois quartos partilham uma casa de banho com banheira. A cozinha tem espaço de refeições totalmente equipado e espaço de televisão. É necessário subir escadas.

A Casa Teresa oferece dias de descanso e conforto no coração de Évora, a poucos minutos a pé da Capela dos Ossos, da Praça do Giraldo, do Templo de Diana e da Sé. Tem um pátio partilhado com a Casa Carmo, separado por vegetação, ideal para relaxar com um vinho alentejano. Não dispomos de estacionamento privado, mas poderá descarregar as malas calmamente à porta de casa e estacionar depois num parque pago a aproximadamente 300m ou num parque gratuito de terra batida, fora das muralhas, a 450m.

Cosy House - Become a Local - City Center

Cozy and authentic house with Roman-like arches. This house is part of the old Jewish quarter of Évora! If you like new experiences, this is the right choice for you, as you can experience the way the locals lived in Évora in ancient times. You can even become a resident during your stay! It is located within the medieval walls, in a quiet out-of-the-way street, 2 minutes walk from the main square. PS: If you like new and modern houses, I advise you to book another place.
