It's 1 mile from Goshen College, 45 minutes from Notre Dame and 25 minutes from the Amish town of Shipshewana. The cottage is beside a fruit, nut and berry orchard and gardens. It's adjacent to a city bike trail that links to the Pumpkinvine nature/bike trail. It's close to a train crossing (with whistle) and a busy street.

This beautiful, relaxing guest space is a self-contained basement apartment with with its own entry stairway from the inside of the garage. Totally remodeled in the summer of 2018, it is complete with a full kitchen and cooking essentials. The host couple occupy the main level of this large ranch home, but the basement is dedicated for guest usage. Guests can come and go through a coded entry door into the garage. Use of the back yard, with all its amenities, is available when pre-arranged

The cabin boasts Wi-Fi, TV screen w options,a soaker tub, queen bed, recliners with heating feature, a full kitchen stocked with pots and pans, a washer and dryer. Whether you are on a weekend getaway, wanting to explore the lovely towns of Shipshewana & Middlebury, or in the area to enjoy a Notre Dame game the Back Porch is the perfect place for you. Guests can easily observe Amish country, the Shipshewana flea market (16 min), stroll through the beautiful quilt gardens of Middlebury (15 min), or cheer on a Notre Dame football game (40 min).
