Art galleries and architectural tour along Karl-Marx Allee

In this walking tour of East Berlin, we’ll walk along Karl-Marx Allee and learn about the distinct socialist architecture of this boulevard as well as visit several contemporary art galleries, checking out new works from emerging and established artists and speak about the history and present of Berlin as a hotbed of creativity. • We’ll meet up at the ecclectic Café Tasso to talk about how artists have shaped Berlin since the reunification of Germany in the early 1990s and about the city’s diverse art scene. We will also talk a look at the vast collection of second-hand books in the basement of the café. • Then we’ll make our way along Karl-Marx Allee. Along the way we´ll visit several galleries, such as Galerie im Turm, NBB, Capitain Petzel and others, to tour their current exhibits and, occasionally, speak to curators I know. • As we walk down the street, we’ll discuss the artworks we have seen. I’ll also point out some of the most notable buildings around us and intricate details of them, which reflect the Stalinist “wedding cake” style of architecture that makes this street unique. • The tour concludes at the Café Moskau, another iconic building of the post-war era of eastern Berlin. The tour is a great way to explore the Friedrichshain district of Berlin and get an insider’s view of the city’s vibrant contemporary art scene.

Once a forgotten neighborhood in Berlin, Neukölln has undergone significant changes over 150 years of urban development. Join an architect for a guided tour of Neukölln’s architecture as we explore its past and its future. • We’ll meet at the Genezarethkirche and take a short walk along Schillerpromenade, which itself is an introduction to the district’s history. • Next, we’ll visit parks such as Tempelhofer Feld, once the site of an airport, and Anita Berber Park, where former graveyards were repurposed into a green space. Both are examples of how Berlin has created sustainable, multifunctional environments in dense urban areas. • We’ll pay special attention to social housing initiatives and sustainable design, showcasing buildings such as the Kindl Brewery, a case study in adaptive reuse and circular construction. Rude Bastards tour of Berlin

My tour of Berlin is very different than the usual Politically correct BS. Actually, think of this as the Politically incorrect tour of Berlin, so feel free to bring along your favorite rude jokes when joining us. It will be full of bad language and bad taste jokes-while paying respect where it is due. No snowflakes allowed! Our exploration will involve memorials, monuments and graves, along with churches and parks. We will discuss a mix of history, current events, local cuisine, the best spots for a cold German beer by the city center of Berlin. Be prepared to be socially active. Other things to note The tour is meant for adults, 18 or older. Each guide will be identified with a small yellow flag and our name!

Paint by enamel in workshop Smalterie!

We are forward to host You. In our workshop. In workshop I cooperate with another lektors, you can meet Radek, Karel, Jenny, Tereza, Joan, Bara or Emma, not only me :-) We will show you how enameling works, how to use enamel paints and then you will have a go at painting a mug yourself. When you finish your mug, we will fire it in a furnace so you can take it home with you straight away. Enameling is such a unique technique – powdered glass paint is applied on a metal base and fired at 800°C. We will show you everything you need to know and will be available to you throughout your whole stay. You do not need to bring anything, just yourself! This workshop is great for both groups or individuals, adults or children, team building or hen parties, birthday parties. Other things to note Duration circa 2 hours (but you can stay longer). If you would like a different time slots (between 12:00-18:00) - just let us know (we will check availability and add slots for you.)

So, here's the plan: You get to become part of one of the coolest and most fun stand up comedy shows in English in Berlin! It's about the Expat situation in Berlin. And it's always in a unique location. Most of the time it's at Kara Kas Bar or Z-Bar, a small, cool cinema in the heart of Berlin. We'll have pre-show drinks and then enjoy a great line up of comics doing hilarious material and an awesome headliner to top it all off. After that we'll have some relaxed drinks at the bar where we mingle and you get to know the comics and the other people joining the experience in a more private setting.

The Plague Doctor of Prague

After our success of the online version, seen by New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Vogue and Forbes we are finally back on the streets with our live tour to explore the Black Death and plague in Prague of the 18th Century. You will explore the city with your personal plague doctor, our forgotten hero A. Schamsky who fought the Plague in 1713. In the original dress of a plague doctor we will take you on a journey through the different centuries for only one purpose: Surviving! A historical walk with shocking details of the pneunomic and bubonic plague. What have we learned from this and when did it all end? An interactive tour to the hidden gems of the old town. We´ll stop by at the old St. Francis hospital and conclude the tour at the convent of St. Agnes. The tour is interactive, hence your questions are more than welcome. Telltale Ghost Tour

Next to the Astronomical clock, you will meet your guide in a stylish historical costume, who will lead you into Old Town’s darkening alleys. There, you will be shown locations of dreadful discoveries, medieval graveyards, ancient churches and hospitals, as well as other places of Prague associated with the undead, demons and strange apparitions. The stories about them shaped the city’s self-perception for centuries! Through the lightly theatrical storytelling, you will familiarize yourself with the authentic creepy lore of the locals, but also learn a lot about the city’s past, as your guide will put the tales into historical context that further expands your understanding of Prague and its horrorful side. The tour makes stops at a handful of famous Prague landmarks (see under “Where you’ll be”) but also leads through picturesque areas off the beaten path with hidden gems.
