Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

The Tree Cabin

The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size plus bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with induction plate, microwave oven & toaster. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water.

Magical, grade II listed 18th century traditional Lakeland cottage, set within 5 acres of woodlands, leading directly to private beaches on Lake Windermere. Relax in a peaceful, natural environment, ideal for friends, families, wild swimmers, cyclists, paddle boarders, hikers and for cosy evenings by the fireplace. Separately charged are a luxurious hot tub, perfect after a hard days hike and a wood fired barrel sauna with cold shower. A tuck shop, art classes and treatments are also available.

Situated in the lovely village of Portinscale this warm detached family home provides everything you might want to enjoy a stay in the Lake District. We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

The Lady of the Lake is a cosy cottage with stunning views across Lake Windermere to the fells. The cottage provides the perfect base to relax and explore the Lake District and all it has to offer, from Horse Riding to Hiking, Boat Trips, Cycling and many more activities. The cottage has a private parking space, EV charger, shared private jetty, and is ideally situated just a 15 minute walk from Windermere train station and centre where you will find an array of shops and traditional pubs.

The Lake House

The detached Lake House is set in 11 acres. Ravensworth is an enchanting village with many of the houses dating from the 17th century. The village is defined by its green, and ancient ruined castle, only a few miles from the pretty towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle . A village pub and two wonderful farm shop cafes within walking distance. The Lake House has uninterrupted views of the lake and surrounding woodland. The Lake House can also be booked together with Willow Cottage.

Yewbarrow - Shepherd's hut overlooking Wastwater

One of two traditional wooden shepherd's huts situated at the top of the beautiful Wasdale valley on a working Lakeland hill farm. Both huts have spectacular lake views over Wastwater and the surrounding fells and are the perfect bases for outdoor activities. Each hut comes complete with its own bathroom with shower, kitchen area and outdoor seating with BBQ. The shepherd's huts are brand new for summer 2022 and are currently being built from scratch here on the farm.
