As the valley became more residential the cottage has been nicely converted to a comfortable indoor/outdoor living space. Pasture and farm still abound and mix with wildlife and recreation. Olympic National Park and Forest just to the south. Strait of Juan de Fuca and Dungeness Recreation Area to the north. Pacific Ocean to the west and Hood Canal and Seattle to the east.

Shadynook Cottages is located 2 blocks from the heart of downtown Forks which makes it close to city amenities such as restaurants and shopping and a short driving distance from hiking, sight seeing, beach combing, or exploring. Cabin 1 includes it's own separate driveway and a deck with table and chairs to enjoy. Cottage 1 was remodeled at the end of summer 2020. It has a brand new, fully stocked kitchen, all new floors/carpet, on-demand hot water heater, and it’s own WiFi service.
