Rustic Cottage in a Wild Flower Meadow

Sitting pretty in a wild flower meadow surrounded by open fields, this barn conversion is countryside simplicity at its best: updated appliances and rustic furniture arranged for open-plan living to relax unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The barn is located in the meadow behind our thatched cottage. The space is entirely your own and is self catered with a well equipped open plan kitchen. We're on hand should you need any advice or assistance during your stay, though you'll have your own privacy and can interact as much or as little as you'd like. Enjoy pastoral tranquility here whilst being within an easy 10-minute reach of the medieval charm of Lavenham. Public footpaths are close by or venture further afield to admire the beautiful Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds. Once you arrive in the barn, there is a small collection of books about the surrounding area and county. We can of course recommend places to visit.

Beach 25 mins away. Many Restaurants and takeaways within walking distance. 10 minutes drive to Colchester Hospital. Your break starts here! Relax in this "Hamptons" style loft apartment just a few minutes walk from the anchorage with its fish restaurants, cafes and pubs…it’s also the best place to see the amazing sunsets across the water! The apartment is self-contained having its own staircase from the ground floor and on-site parking. Open plan living, balcony, fully equipped kitchen, contemporary bathroom with massive walk-in shower, double bedroom and boot/laundry room. All designed with you in mind!

Shepard’s Hut in Small Orchard

This is a stand alone unit totally self contained with shower and toilet. Unlike garden rooms this unit has wheels and a tow bar. The (should I say) Shepherdess Hut as it was used by a small holder during lambing to be close to her flock. Not suitable for long stays. More details below in The Space. Our small orchard has 2 x cherry, plum, 3 x pear, 2 x apple, greengage, apricot, mulberry, medlar and olive. We also have two 2 x raspberry, loganberry, Japanese wine berry and our own hops

Lavenham is considered to be England's most well-preserved medieval town. With its winding streets, timber-framed buildings and quaint cottages, it is also Suffolk's prettiest wool town and is ideally located to explore the beautiful Suffolk countryside.

Riverside gem with a nautical past

In the heart of lower Wivenhoe on the quay, our little self-contained cottage was once part of the home of The Colne Marine and Yacht Company. Its thick brick walls and quiet and pretty disposition, defy its former role as a working yard where timber yachts were crafted and repaired, drawn up inside at high tide. Emma and Charlie welcome guests back time after time to relax and enjoy this very special place. We hope you will join them.
