The Historic Garden Cottage

An historic free-standing building on our 12 acre property "Claremont" (c.1857), the Garden Cottage has been fully renovated to offer a unique place to stay in beautiful, peaceful and historic surroundings. The accommodation is totally private, with a queen bed, en suite bathroom and basic food preparation facilities (fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle). It has a split system for heating and cooling. The Garden Cottage is approx. 3.4 km to the heart of Castlemaine township, and is only a short walk to the lovely Botanical Gardens.

The space: recently renovated, living room & fireplace, gas stove kitchen (no oven) with all you need to consume delicious local produce, lofted bedroom & beautiful bathroom. The Stables is set within a beautiful cottage garden and large gum tree surrounds. “The Studio Behind the House With The Yellow Door” is a well-established AIRBNB in Castlemaine. It is a complete self-contained guest house; open plan lounge, kitchenette, separate bedroom, bathroom/toilet with shower. Stylishly designed and decorated. Light and airy, yet very private. We don't list "breakfast provided," but we do add bread and milk (gluten and dairy free if requested) and lots of other things to make a light breakfast. Your new hosts are Randall and Helen and Millie.

Our area is home to an abundance of nature, from kangaroos to echidnas to wombats.

We live on 6.5 acres and are a great base to explore all that Bendigo has to offer; the Art Gallery, Capital and Ulumbarra theatres, Central Deborah Mine, the popular Markets, Music/Food/Wine/Beer festivals and the many great cafes and fine dining options including award winning "Masons" and "The Woodhouse" We live opposite the Bendigo Regional Park which boasts many mountain bike tracks and are also in close proximity to some local wineries.

Union House c.1861

Union House is a unique part of Castlemaine's history. Built in the early 1860's in the central area of the town, it is a minutes walk from all the town's attractions- the galleries, restaurants, hotels, theatre, boutiques, supermarket, and easy walking distance to the gardens, regional parks, railway station, and the Woollen Mill complex. The cottage has been recently renovated to amalgamate its historic features with contemporary comforts and luxurious appointments.

This self-contained studio is tucked below our house. It's a totally separate and private space, air conditioned, double glazed and with its own off-street parking and access. It is within walking distance to the town centre, The Mill Complex, The Bridge Hotel and the Botanic Gardens; and just a 7 min walk up the hill from the railway station. Enjoy fabulous views to the east from the lounge, bedroom and your private balcony across the town to Mt Alexander.

Clevedon cottage is full of character and charm, nestled in the grounds of the Historic Clevedon Manor. The cottage boasts magical views of the Clevedon Mannor gardens and is perfect for a romantic getaway, a peaceful escape or a hub for exploring town. Perfectly located, five minutes from Town and the Train Station. Clevedon Cottage is also a short walk to the beautiful Botanic Gardens, The Mill complex, Tap room and Des Kaffehaus.
