The Old Smiddy, Huna, John O'Groats

Close to the village of John O' Groats and on the North Coast 500, the Old Smiddy (an old blacksmith's cottage) has been beautifully restored into a modern home, while keeping many of its original features. The cottage sleeps 4 people in 2 double bedrooms (both en-suite) and has a fold-away camp bed for use by a small child. The cottage offers beautiful sea views across the Pentland Firth to the Orkney Islands and is the perfect base for exploring Caithness, Sutherland and Orkney.

On the shore at Shormary Cottage

Shormary Cottage enjoys a wonderful coastal location, enjoying spectacular views towards Dunnet Head, the Pentland Firth and Orkney Isles . Direct access to the shore is offered where you can explore rock pools, build sand castles or gather shells on the beach below. Why not pick up the binoculars to watch the wildlife? Is that a seal, a dolphin or even a whale? As for the birds (too numerous to list here!) the favourites are herons, buzzards and puffins. HI-00301-F

This is one of the nicest houses in Thurso. it is located only five minutes from the centre of town and is a perfect base for enjoying the city and surrounding countryside. There is a private driveway and free off-street parking for up to 6 cars. This beautiful house has a full kitchen and dining area, a spacious living room and five bedrooms. It sleeps 4 people and is available to rent all year round. This coastal cottage is part of a traditional croft-based smallholding in Caithness with views of the Pentland Firth, Orkney Islands and surrounding countryside.
