Hen Gegin is a recently renovated 18th century “out kitchen” to our main farmhouse. The cottage is ideal for a couple, is separate from our house and completely self contained with a space for parking right outside on our drive. The area is quiet and very beautiful with only a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Borth-y-Gest and Morfa Bychan. Tyn Y Benrhos is a stunning Welsh stone cottage situated in its own grounds, in Coed Y Brenin forest, near Dolgellau. You have access to the entire property, with enclosed garden for up to 2 dogs and 8 acres of fields, woodlands and a river to explore. Here you are perfectly located for an active holiday whether it be walking, running or cycling. If you just want to relax there is plenty of opportunity to do that too. We do not live on site but live about 20 mins away and are on hand if needed.

There is a hot tub and outdoor shower with an outdoor kitchen, BBQ, fire pit and pellet pizza oven. Underfloor heating throughout. Bedrooms have smart tv and 4g WiFi. Originally stables, the cottage has been sustainably converted to one-up-one-down self-catering accommodation. Double bed, shower, washing m/c, sofa-bed & well equipped kitchen. Easy to get to via public transport. 10 min walk from station and 5 mins to bus stops. Very close to shops, cafes etc. Cycle parking available. There is usually space to park a car on the drive, but be aware that the entrance is a bit narrow. We also have an EV charger. We have swifts nesting between May and August.

Hiking trails abound with Harlech beach, town and castle a walk away. The area has plenty to offer; steam railways, Portmeirion, sandy beaches, ZipWorld and Mt Snowdon are just a car ride away. Alternatively enjoy the Nook’s garden with BBQ/fire-pit and perhaps a game on its unique pétanque pitch or retro games machine.

It has a staircase that leads to a gallery landing and mezanine bedroom, with a king size bed, and en-suite shower room.
