This self-contained house is bright and welcoming, has an open plan living area, log burning fire, garden space and free Wifi. Hill walk, wild-swim or mountain bike straight from the door. We offer a bike wash station and secure lock up for your bikes. Play golf or visit our local distilleries. Discover Royal Deeside's rich history. Ballater is an attractive riverside village in rural Aberdeenshire with many amenities including an interesting Golf Course. There are significant Royal Connections with Balmoral Castle, the summer residence of the Royal Family only a short drive away.There are a good number of places to eat, catering for many tastes as well as a well stocked supermarket. Outdoor activities include many walks and Biking trails with two bike hire sources in the village and the Cairngorms are not too far away.

Idyllic Farmhouse in Stunning Deeside Location

Blackness Farmhouse is a traditional cottage still retaining many of its original features. Bathrooms and kitchen have been modernized, open fires replaced for wood burners and carpeting added to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage was our home while we converted the nearby barns into our new house. and although storage was tight for a busy family of 6, we loved our time living there and always felt it would make a perfect holiday home. We hope you enjoy your stay.

The Farm Bothy Cottage

The Farm Bothy cottage offers luxury accommodation on a working sheep farm. It is self-contained, within a modern steading/barn conversion. We live in the other wing of the house. You can explore the farm, woodlands and our garden. Ideally located for visiting nearby castles and distilleries the area also has great cycling, golfing, fishing and horse-riding. Our local pub is a mile away. The nearest town, Alford, has a pub, restaurant, shops, supermarket, parks and museums.

There is a doctor, veterinary surgery, charity shop, golf club and excellent on the doorstep adventure for all levels. Torphins is ideally located between Deeside and Donside for access to the fishing and hunting with Cairngorm national park also within 10 minutes drive.
