The home is a short 7 minute walk to Ashmont T Stop. A truly unique master bedroom and a cozy 2nd bedroom both adjacent to a marble spa bathroom (which has a heated floor and a large shower with a built in bench). With a clean, glass-tiled kitchen with granite-top counters, you'll be staying in a nice deluxe suite that is set in a friendly, safe neighborhood perfect for romantic couples, solo adventurers, and savvy business travelers who want the feel of a downtown hotel without the high price.

Your space includes 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with a pantry (all with hardwood floors) and a spa bathroom with a heated tile floor. The kitchen utilizes a small Ikea table that opens outwardly to seat 3 people.

There is also a laundry room in the downstairs basement. A large washer and dryer are provided free of charge including detergent, bleach, fabric softener, etc on a large laundry folding table.

The kitchen and the larger boutique bedroom both have ceiling fans w/remote controls. During the warmer season, each bedroom has an air conditioner. The master bedroom includes a large screen tv with Comcast cable, wifi and Google Chromecast smart streaming including Netflix.

The second bedroom also contains a WFH desk, lamp and chair. Additionally, there are 2 other chairs (including a comfortable wing back chair) along with a small coffee table for relaxing.

Gde ćete biti

Boston, Massachusetts, Сједињене Државе

We live on a wide tree-lined street. We have both a driveway-side and backyard garden. We are 1.5 miles from ocean access (Boston Harborwalk) and waterway trails (Neponset River Waterways). There is a CVS nearby, several convenience stores, several cafés, a Shaws supermarket as well as the Carney Hospital, The Lower MIlls Library, Lower Mills Post Office, several churches and 2 fire-stations. Also nearby, several top notch restaurants and bars including live entertainment in some. All are within a 8-15 minute walking distance including the following:

*Whether a car rental is necessary-some pros and cons:

1. Greater access to additional restaurants, playgrounds, parks and walkways (there is free parking at these locations as well).

Explanation: Even though we have restaurants and groceries with a 7 minute walk, with a car you’d be able to access many other nearby restaurants that are closer to between 12-15 minute walks.

For families, here is a playground within a 6 minutes walk and another within 10, but there are also 2 beautiful somewhat nearby walks, one along the Neponset River in a pretty and plush setting walking over wooden bridges and another that’s part of the harbor walk into Boston (5 mile walk) along the ocean harbor. To reach these further places by car would be a lot easier even though each is only a 7 or 8 minute drive and more like an 18 minute walk.

2. Parking on our street is free and requires no permit or sticker whereby some adjacent streets don’t have that privilege.

3. When you, your baby or child become tired, it’s nice to have a car.

4. Of course, a car has plenty of trunk space for everything you might need to carry.

5. Sometimes you just don’t want to bother with the train if it’s inclement weather, your restless or in a bad mood (haha) and so you take the car to town and waste $20 parking but you are very comfortable. (Download “ParkWhiz” app).

6. Enterprise Leasing on Morrisey Blvd will actually come and pick you up to get your rental car after you arrive. Or even deliver it to you. You can set that up in advance too (617) 282-3900.

One other note: Boston now has Getaround so you can just grab any nearby rental car that residents are renting out.

1. Your car you paid good money for will likely just sit parked a lot and there are plenty of uber, lyft and taxi rides within 3-4 minutes of summoning them.
2. You’ll have to sit in Boston’s worsening traffic. It’s only avoidable if you travel between 10:30AM-1:30PM and/or after 7:30PM-8:00PM.

It’s usually easy to get a parking space nearby, if not even in front of the house.

Occasionally it does get a little crowded but it’s usually on school mornings (when in session) between 7:30am and 8:30am when there’s a little bit of a traffic rush.

If you come back late at night sometimes you may have to park a little further away. You can always use my driveway in a pinch.

*The Airbnb Laundry room:

The laundry is downstairs and you can arrive there by using the door to the right side of the door you used to enter the Airbnb. You have to slide the latch to the right to open it.

Before you go downstairs, you should turn on 2 lights you’ll need to see:

1. turn on the light above the kitchen table to help you see where you are going when you reach the bottom of the stairs.

2. Also the light that was on in the small mud room when you entered will illuminate the stairwell going down. It is not a finished basement but the washer and dryer have clean floor mats you can walk on and handle your laundry.

3. The 3rd light you need to turn on is above the machines. Pull the light string and the fluorescent ballast will illuminate.

All supplies needed are free to use and are located on a table to the left of the washer and dryer.

Please follow any written instructions about which wash cycles to use and to clean the lint drawer if the dryer after every use.

*Traveling for Free from Logan Airport to Ashmont Train Stop (near us):

Its relatively easy from the airport to our house. You take the Silver Line bus (which itself, turns into a trolley), which then goes to your first destination, South Station. Then, you switch trains from there to the Redline train (no fare required) which takes you directly to Ashmont. Total time on Silver and Redlines is about 40-50 minutes but add time to switch trains and/or wait for the train at South Station and it’s more like an hour.

You can also ride share with Uber or Lyft from the airport in about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and that costs between $12-$32 dollars, again depending on how long it takes due to traffic and whether you select a private or shared ride (Uber Pool/Lyft Line). You can also, of course, take a regular taxi (usually 30% more expensive).

Also, here’s a MBTA train schedule link that might help (or possibly confuse you!):

*Traveling to Colleges and to Boston’s City Centers:

Regarding more touristy spots: From our house, It’s a 7 minute walk down the street to the red line train at Ashmont Station. Then it’s about 18-20 into South Station where you can connect to the Silver Line to go to Logan Airport. Once you reach South Station on the red line you also can exit to the street. From there you can walk or taxi to Downtown, Seaport, The Waterfront, Quincy Market (aka Faneuil Hall), The North End (Italian food) or you can continue one stop to Park St Station and switch trains to other lines (ie Green Line, Blue Line, Orange Line) to take you in different directions within the city, including Back Bay, Copley Square, Northeastern University, the town of Brookline, Boston University, Fenway Park (Kenmore Square), Boston College in Newton. You can also continue on the Red Line to MIT, Harvard and Harvard Square in Cambridge (30 minute ride from Ashmont Station)

*Traveling further within Dorchester:

In our Boston neighborhood, you can also find at the end of Ashmont Station one of the country’s oldest trolley line that continues onward and travels through woodland for about 2 miles to a waterway walk called the Neponset River Greenway (at the “Mattapan” stop). It’s beautiful yet dense family friendly walk over several small bridges.

You can also stop 1 stop sooner on the trolley in “Milton Village” and walk 1/2 mile of a scenic walkway where you then reach views leading to Boston Harbor and it is also connects with the Boston Harborwalk which lasts for 5 miles into Boston’s Italian North End section (and is used by bikers, runners, skateboarders, kayaks, etc)

There is a winery and a restaurant along the way before you reach the University of Massachusetts next to The Kennedy Library. Most major Boston tourist spots are in Boston’s Waterfront areas, the Back Bay and the Seaport District.

*Famous People Born in Dorchester:

Leonard Nimoy – born in Dorchester; actor, director, poet, musician, and photographer; best known as Spock on Star Trek

Mark Wahlberg – Academy Award-nominated actor, producer, model and rapper, star of films including Boogie Nights, The Perfect Storm, Ted, The Departed and The Fighter

The New Kids On The Block

Whitey Bulger – crime boss, head of Winter Hill Gang, subject of films Black Mass and The_Departed

Rose Kennedy – mother of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy

Buddy Clark - easy-listening-jazz singer

Lucy Stone – abolitionist and suffragist

And many others. (See the Dorchester first history link below for “notable people”)
